We Appropriate This New Day
God is setting before us a new day in which He will move in ways that we have not known before. As it was with the Israelites when they left Egypt, we leave behind everything of the wilderness, even the manna that once fed us.
By His suffering and victory on the cross, He broke away our old nature with all of its sin, restraints, walls, reluctances, restrictions, and refusals. He makes us white as snow (Psalm 51:7), and we are free to perceive and receive all that He is doing in the new day. The initiative is ours to appropriate it.
On this New Year’s Eve, we proclaim our faith that in His provision is the divine providence and power to deliver us completely and thoroughly from all things that hold us back from His Kingdom.
